General Notes: Husband - Thomas Carter Dempsey

He received his education in the district school, and learned the carpenter's trade, which he never followed but became a farmer. In 1848 he moved to Kaneville, Venango County, Pennsylvania, later to Crawford County, where he died. He was a Democrat until the Fremont campaign, when he transferred his allegiance to the Re-publican party, and ever afterward supported that party.
