General Notes: Husband - Hugh Jordan

He came to the West Branch-Ridges Section of what is now Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, with his brother Benjamin, in 1803.
He became a leader in organizational activities in Clearfield County, being one of the three original commissioners appointed in 1812 when the county assumed some degree of administrative control separate from Centre County. He was also named as an associate justice; and was one of the first elders of the Presbyterian Church at Clearfield. Jordan Township was named in his honor.
