General Notes: Husband - John K. McMillan

He was reared on his father's farm, and received his elementary education in the common schools of his native township, which was supplemented with a course at the Southwestern State Normal School, California, Pennsylvania, and at Duff's Business College, Pittsburgh, class of 1877-78. He then came to Washington, Pennsylvania, and for a time carried on an insurance business. In 1881 he purchased first the half and later the entire interest in a drug store in the borough. Mr. McMillan was a registered pharmacist (1887). The family were members of the M. E. Church. Mr. McMillan was a member of the F. & A. M.; in politics he was a Democrat.
