General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Chambers Ludlow


He was a physician of high standing in the Union army during the Rebellion, after which he resumed his practice in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He studied medicine and was graduated M. D. at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. In the Civil war, he participated in many important battles and rose to the rank of Brevet Brigadier-General. After the war he removed to Austin, Texas.
