General Notes: Husband - Rev. John Johnston

He was born near the city of Belfast, Ireland, and came to America about 1784. He was installed pastor of the Hart's Log and Shaver's Creek Presbyterian congregations in November, 1787, and of Huntingdon soon thereafter. He married and for a short time resided in Shaver's Creek Valley. Soon thereafter he moved to Huntingdon, and resided at the southeastern corner of Second and Penn Streets, where he later died.

He was of Scotch-Irish descent, and came from Belfast, Ireland, when a young man; was pastor in the Presbyterian church at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, from 1790 to 1823, a period of thirty-three years, and was the first pastor of that church.
