General Notes: Husband - Peter Arnold

He was reared and married in York County, Pennsylvania, and April 13, 1837, removed with his family to Clearfield County, where he purchased a farm, upon which he spent his remaining days. He and his wife were members of the Lutheran Church.

This family was noted for their ability as financiers. There were five sons, all of whom attained success through their own efforts. All were successful merchants, and four were prominently connected with banking interests, as cashiers or bank presidents.

General Notes: Wife - Susannah Klugh

Her father was a native of Germany, came to America at an early day, and for seven years valiantly served as a patriot in the war of the Revolution. He afterward located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he reared his family and died.
