He received in youth an academic education and afterward attended New Wellington College. At the age of twenty-eight years he began the study of medicine, Dr. Robinson being his preceptor, and graduated at Miami Medical College, Cincinnati, in 1874. In 1877 the Doctor located in Darlington, Pennsylvania, and developed a large and lucrative practice. He had a very extensive and valuable medical library. In politics he was a Democrat.
