General Notes: Husband - Fitz Henry Arnold

He attended Smethport and Coudersport academies, and completed his education at Addison, Steuben County, New York. When a young man he became associated with his father in his large business interests, the firm name being A. S. Arnold & Co., which continued until the death of the father. Then F. H. Arnold and E. B. Dolley formed a partnership, purchasing the lumber and mercantile interests of A. S. Arnold & Co.
On the incorporation of the First National Bank, May 2, 1888, he became its first president. He was largely instrumental in the organization of the Port Allegany water-works, becoming the first president of that company; was also a stockholder in the Coudersport & Port Allegany Railroad. Mr. Arnold had, with others, three gas wells, and worked to put down enough to afford a supply for the entire borough.
Mr. Arnold was a supporter of the Democratic party; was a member of Liberty Lodge, No. 505, F. & A. M., of Arnold Chapter, R. A. M., and of St. John's Commandery, K. T. [HMEF, 515]
