General Notes: Husband - George Gleim

He was educated principally in the public schools of the locality. Upon the establishment of the Lebanon Valley Bank, Jan. 1, 1832, he was elected a teller. This was the first bank in the county, later known as "The Lebanon National Bank." In 1836, Mr. Gleim was chosen cashier of the bank, and remained in that position for a period of twenty years. He resided at Lebanon.

For many years he was cashier of a bank in Lebanon, an institution at that time the only one of its kind in the place, established by Simon Cameron, and continued in its service until his retirement, ten years prior to his death. Late in life he moved to Philadelphia, in which city he died.
He was married twice: Arndt and Baumgardner. [GPHWP, 246]

"In the present generations of the Gleim family there is a curious blending of German, Spanish, and Dutch strains." [GPHWP, 245]
