General Notes: Husband - Matthew Hillis


He was a settler here [property in Washington County, Pennsylvania, belonging to George Washington] before these lands were sold. He had taken up a tract of land on a Virginia certificate, one hundred and thirty acres of which he sold Dec. 5, 1803, to John McKibbins.
