General Notes: Husband - Leman N. Irwin

He remained on the home farm until he was seventeen years of age, and then went to Washington, Pennsylvania, and learned the carpenter trade and worked at it for two years. His health failed and his physician recommended California, and after a stay of fifteen months in the mild climate of that state he returned to Pennsylvania and resumed farming on the old place, subsequently, however, returning to Washington. Here he engaged in the butchering business for two years, and at the end of that period became interested in the oil industry.
He was a member of the Second United Presbyterian Church at Washington.
