General Notes: Husband - Robert A. Armstrong

He was born in Allegheny township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and his education and training were acquired in the public school, Freeport Academy and Allegheny college. He turned his attention to agriculture, in which calling he has succeeded beyond his most sanguine expectations, becoming the owner of one hundred and fifty acres of as good land as there was in the township. This land he maintained in a high state of cultivation, and in addition to general farming carried on an extensive dairy. In 1882 he built a fine brick residence in the rear of which was a log cabin, a relic of the past, which was built in 1830.
For twelve years he held the office of school director.
