General Notes: Husband - Robert Armstrong


He was a native of the north of Ireland and came to America and settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, about 1820. He followed farming on 80 acres of land he purchased in Allegheny township, and was also engaged upon the construction of the Pennsylvania canal in his section.

In 1823 he came to America from the north of Ireland and proceeded di-rectly to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, settling in Allegheny township, where he purchased eighty acres of land .
His children, seven in number, had all passed the period of childhood when the family left their native land. [HWC 1906 ii, 526]
