He and his first wife had two children. They left Ireland for America in 1797-or-8. His wife died while crossing the ocean. After a journey of three months he landed with his two children. He came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, and settled in Cherrytree township about 1803-or-4. He had twelve children with his second wife.
