General Notes: Husband - Harper Samuel Irons

He was educated in the Mount Vernon public school in Hopewell township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, from which he was graduated. He always resided there and was engaged in general and dairy farming. His farm consisted of seventy-five acres, part of which was devoted to pasturage, a part to fruit growing and the remainder to general products. He was a man of much executive ability and was called upon to fill several public offices of trust and responsibility. He served as a member of the board of school directors, about eight years as supervisor; and was appointed foreman of Routes Nos. 76 and 115, of the new State Road in that section of the country. He voted with the Republican party, and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
