General Notes: Husband - Dr. William Lightcap Hunter

After attending the academy at Elder's Ridge, he read medicine with Dr. James McConaughy at Mt. Pleasant [Westmoreland County?], Pennsylvania, and at the age of twenty-four entered on a course in chemistry and toxicology at Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York. After completing that course he attended Dr. Richardson's school of pharmacy in Philadelphia, and then entered Jefferson Medical College of the latter city, from which he graduated in 1868. In the spring of the same year he began to practice in Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, and developed a large and lucrative patronage. The doctor also established a fine livery-stable for the benefit of his townsmen. With his family he was associated with the U. P. Church. Politically he was a republican.
