General Notes: Husband - John Hunter

He was reared on the home farm, which he later came to own and after leaving the common schools devoted his time to agricultural pursuits. His farm was largely timber land when he began and most of it was cleared by himself. He owned two hundred acres of valuable land, part of which was underlaid with coal and gas. He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian or Covenanter church.
