General Notes: Husband - Philo Paul


He passed his early youth on the farm with his father. In 1841 he purchased a farm in West Bethlehem township, Washington County, PA, where he lived until August, 1862, when he enlisted in the war of the Rebellion, in Company D, One Hundred and Fortieth P. V. I.; he was killed at Spottsylvania Court-house.

He lost his life during the Civil War at the battle of the Wilderness in front of Richmond.
