General Notes: Husband - Marshall Eaton Hughes


He resided in Mercer County beginning when he was thirteen years of age. He secured a common school education and learned the plastering trade, commencing when but seventeen years of age and serving an apprenticeship of three years. He did not pursue this occupation continually, but farmed at times, and was otherwise engaged. He located in Grove City, in 1892 the first time, and later removed to a farm, then returned to town and was highly successful as a plasterer and a contractor of such class of work.
He always cast his vote with the Republican party. He was nominated in 1908 for county commissioner by his party. In church relations he was of the Methodist Episcopal denomination.
