General Notes: Husband - Barnabas Hughes

---

He was born in Amwell township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared to agricultural pursuits, attending during a few weeks in winter time the schools of the district.
He and his wife were members of the Christian Church, and in politics he was for some time a Jacksonian Democrat, but in later years voted the Re-publican ticket.

He died some years after his wife, at the age of eighty-six.
