General Notes: Husband - Benjamin Huber

His father was the first of his ancestors to settle in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in the late 1700s. The house which he erected, bearing the date 1798, was still standing in 1887. It was built of stone, two stories in height, with eight rooms. The barn was also standing, built of solid stone. He took up about 400 acres of land, and traded a gun to the Indians for the farm, because there was a spring of water on it.
He bought the property from his father and lived on it until 1845, when he sold it to his son John, and moved to a small farm adjoining, where he resided until his death.

He was a farmer near Rocky Spring, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and helped to carry the brick used in building the Rocky Spring Church. As administrator of Peter Over's estate, he sold the last slave that was sold in Franklin County. He was a member of the United Brethren Church.
