Mrs. Jacobs Dies In California
CLINTONVILLE — Mrs. Beula F. Jacobs, 67, of Bakersfield, Calif., former Clintonville resident and widow of Chester Jacobs, died April 26 in Bakersfield.
Born July 7, 1904, in Clintonville, she was a daughter of D. Roy and M. Sylvia Hoffman Hovis, and spent her early life in Clintonville, where she attended the public schools.
She served for many years as telephone operator for the Clintonville area.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs moved to California 26 years ago. Her husband died in 1966.
She is survived by a son, Donald J. Jacobs of Bakersfield; a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Ann Ezekiel of Los Altos, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Scott (Vera) McWilliams of East McKeesport, Mrs. Lawrence (Edith) Hoffman of Barkeyville and Mrs. F. J. (Ruth) Hovis of Franklin, and five brothers, Raymond D., Eugene J. and F. Earl Hovis of Clintonville, W. Virgil Hovis of Sewickley and William C. Hovis of Ellwood City.
Funeral services were held at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel in California April 29.
