General Notes: Husband - Silas Stevenson

---

He was born at Mt. Nebo, Mahoning County, Ohio, from which place he moved to Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, when it was yet a part of Mercer County. He became a man of substance and political prominence and in 1858 he was elected sheriff of Lawrence County and served until 1861. He resided at New Castle until his death.

He was at one time sheriff of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, and a grandson of his, Joseph S. Edwards, was the treasurer of Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
