General Notes: Husband - Thomas R. Homan


He was reared in Sugar Creek Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, received a common school education, and followed farming. He took a deep interest in the affairs of his township, and in 1878 was elected county commissioner, serving one term. He filled the office of constable and collector for eight years, and school director six years. Politically he was a Democrat, and one of the respected citizens of the township. He was a member of the Wesleyan-Methodist church.
