General Notes: Husband - James Cameron Prather

He moved to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1860, and settled on land in Troy Town-ship, which had been purchased by his father, and made many valuable improvements, such as clearing, erecting build-ings, etc. He eventually had about 400 acres, which ranged in value from $15 to $100 per acre. The live-stock on the farm consisted of good Durham and Jer-sey bloods. He and his wife were members of the Bap-tist Church of Townville. He served in many township offices; was Justice of the Peace ten years; Auditor nine years; in politics he was a Democrat.
