General Notes: Husband - Alphuis Paul Hoffman

According to two separate newspaper clippings, the body of a "Paul" Hoffman was found partially decomposed in an oil lease pumping station or power house overlooking the Allegheny River near the double railroad crossing on the Oil City - Franklin Road. Paul had succumbed to the effects of alcoholism and starvation. He had been hospitalized the previous May in Franklin at which time he was age 42. One of these articles is dated Wednesday, October 17, 1951. A pumper, who had seen him around the shack a month earlier, stated that he saw a man lying on a makeshift bed covered with an old piece of canvas. The pumper stated that "he was the skinniest looking mortal I ever looked at."
