General Notes: Husband - James Madison Hineman

He was educated in the public schools of his native township, and then very naturally took up farming on the homestead. He managed this farm very successfully for a period of fifteen years, then removed to Industry township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased a farm of one hundred and two acres, on which he resided beginning in 1893. He made many improvements on this property, among them being the erection of a barn, and he remodeled and improved the dwelling house. In 1909 he bought another farm in Industry township, this containing one hundred and twelve acres, and cultivated both. He cultivated his farms for general produce for the greater part of the time, but later years he gradually branched out into fruit growing, and had about eight acres planted with finely bearing young apple trees, five acres with peach trees, and one acre with plums, pears and cherries. He was a staunch supporter of Democratic principles, served as justice of the peace from 1895 to 1900, and as school director for several years.
