General Notes: Husband - James D. Saxton

He attended the country schools of his neighborhood, and passed his youth working on his father's farm. After his marriage he resided with his parents for six years, then came to a well-improved farm, where his grandfather had located many years before. He followed general farming and stock raising until he retired from active life, his sons performing the laborious part of the work under his direction. He was one of the substantial Democrats of Hanover township, and held several local offices.
