General Notes: Husband - Stephen Stoops


He grew to manhood in Marion Township, Butler County, PA, and devoted himself to agricultural pursuits in the main, although he also en­gaged in the oil business. After 1863 he was identified with the interests of Allegheny Township and did his duty as a man and citizen. In his political views he was a Republican and on the ticket of that party he was frequently elected to local office.
