The old homestead of the father, Samuel, was divided into three farms, the property of his sons, P. Lyman, M. Luther, and William P. In 1887 they estab-lished a brick and tile yard upon the old farm, which rapidly developed into a lucrative business, being the only one of its kind in the township.
