General Notes: Husband - Lewis B. Hile

He was reared to the agricultural pursuits of a farmer, while his literary training was obtained in the country schools. Until his marriage he remained with his parents, and then located upon a farm of one hundred acres in Ferguson township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, twenty-five of which had been cleared and a house and barn erected thereon. The buildings were then re-modeled, an orchard set out, and eventually fifty acres were under cultivation. The place was pleasantly situated one mile from Kerrmoor, and was under-laid with minerals which he owned. He converted his timber into lumber, and in 1888 embarked in merchandising in Marron, carrying on business there for six years, during which time his family still resided on the farm, but he later gave his exclusive attention to his agricultural pursuits.
Socially, Mr. Hile affiliated with the I. O. O. F., and, politically, was identified with the Democratic party, and he filled some local positions.
