General Notes: Husband - Barnabas Hilands


He was residing in the vicinity of Hannastown, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at the time it was burned. He was a native of Scotland and a Covenanter in faith. Shortly after the territory northwest of the Allegheny river was opened to settlement he located on the Franklin road, seven miles from Pittsburgh; there he died, leaving a widow and three children.
