General Notes: Husband - Franklin E. Hewitt

His early life was spent mainly at the old home in Huston township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, where he became familiar with the details of agricultural work. His summers were spent in this employment, and his winters in lumbering until he reached the age of twenty-three, when he went to Penfield to learn the carpenter's trade. The place contained but few inhabitants at that time, and Mr. Hewitt found useful and profitable business as a contractor and builder during his thirty-six years of residence there. He was also engaged in farming upon a tract of forty acres in Huston township.
He was a Republican in party affiliations, in religion he was a Methodist, he being an active member of the Church at Penfield, of which he was a trustee. His wife was a Presbyterian.
