He served as school director for at least three terms. He was a member of Philanthropy Lodge, No. 225, A. Y. M. He was a member and trustee of the U. B. church and was one of the building committee of the U. B. church at Madison, which was erected at a cost of $7,000. He was also a trustee of the Madison cemetery and was elected to fill the vacancy occasioned by his father’s death.
