General Notes: Husband - Israel I. Lesher

He was reared on the Lesher homestead in Antrim township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and educated in the public schools. He was a teacher in the public schools of Washington County, Maryland, and for a year in his native township. He then began farming in Washington County, Maryland, but three years later returned to the Lesher homestead, where he then resided. Besides his occupation as a farmer he clerked more public sales than any other man in the county. He served twelve years on the Antrim township school board, and on many occasions he was judge, inspector and clerk of the elections. He was a member of the Mennonite Church, and was for years actively engaged in Sabbath-school work in his church.
