General Notes: Husband - Richard R. Hice

He was educated in the public and high schools and chose Geneva College for his alma mater, being graduated in the class of 1886. He was a Republican, and his life-work as a geologist led him to make geological investigations throughout the country with special reference to pre-glacial drainage systems, coals, clays, petroleum and gas, his investigations including also the Dominion of Canada. His conspicuous preeminence in his chosen field led to his appointment as State geologist for Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
