General Notes: Husband - John McCartney


He was an early settler of the Juniata Valley in Pennsylvania.
He was a blacksmith by trade.
His will, written November 9, 1786, was probated June 2, 1787, at Carlisle.

The McCartneys and Hendersons were pioneer settlers in Fermanagh Township, in what was then Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

He may have been a son of William McCartney who died in Fermanagh in 1774.
