General Notes: Husband - James S. Henderson, Sr.

He was reared in Venango County, Pennsylvania, where he received a limited common-school education, and in 1852 located in East Hickory, Forest County, where he worked in a furnace for a time. At the beginning of the oil excitement he went to Oil City and boated oil down Oil creek until 1865, when he returned to Hickory, settled on a farm, and engaged in farming and lumbering; he also embarked in the mercantile business, at East Hickory, in 1888. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church; served as commissioner of Forest County, and in politics was an advocate of prohibition.

She was buried first in Prather Cemetery on the farm, but she was moved by John Truman Henderson to the Cemetery behind the East Hickory Methodist Church.
