General Notes: Husband - John King

The sponsors at his baptism Johannes Kφnig; and his wife Catharine.

He was born in Nazareth township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, came to Westmoreland County with his father and grandfather about 1791, and later to Armstrong County with his father. He was a farmer, tailor and cooper, owned real estate in Kittanning township, and was a man of considerable prominence in the community in which he lived, being quite active in public affairs. He was a member of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was somewhat of a scholar and literary man, as is evidenced by the library he owned at the time of his death, the appraisement list of his estate showing over one hundred volumes, among which were four volumes of Goldsmith's "Animated Nature," two volumes of Shakespeare, three volumes of "Scottish Chiefs," the "Pickwick Papers," Burns's Poems, Aesop's Fables, "Thaddeus of Warsaw," the "Vicar of Wakefield," "Luther's Life and Commentary," Buck's Theological Dictionary, "Horseshoe Robinson," "Lyonell," "Robin Hood," "Naval Officers," "Children of the Abbey," and many more of travel, history, literature, science, religion and romance. He owned the farm where Samuel Albert King later lived, in Burrell township, which upon his death vested in his son John, and descended from John to Samuel Albert.

General Notes: Wife - Susanna Heilman

She was baptized, sponsors Theodore Wagner and his wife Christiana (certified by Rev. Michael J. Steck, Lutheran minister at Harrold's Church, near Greensburg, PA).
