General Notes: Husband - J. Frank Hoover

He was born two miles south of Chambersburg, Guilford township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. He was reared on a farm and attended the public schools. All of his life he followed farming and was a very successful man.

In religion Mr. Hoover was a member of the Reformed Church. His political opinions made him a stanch Republican, and he held the position of township assessor for four years; township auditor for three years; inspector of elections; and was one of the active politicians of his community for some years.
Mr. Hoover was one of the promoters of the Friendship Mutual Fire Insurance Company, of Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and became one of its directors. After the death of Edwin S. Wertz Mr. Hoover purchased a one-half interest in the Fayetteville Elevator Company, at East Fayetteville, and on Oct. 16, 1893, started business at the above named place, later disposing of his farm to his brother, William H. Hoover.
