Vernon Twp, Crawford Co, PA

He was honored by his fellow citizens with a number of township offices. Although appointed Justice of the Peace, he was never called upon to act, so fairly and peaceably was the business of the community transacted. He had a beautiful farm of 300 acres, well watered and improved. He was a member of the German Reformed Church of the township.

He and his wife were the parents of ten children; six were still living in 1885.
