Floyd Heckathorne, 67, Dies In Cleveland Clinic
Floyd B. Heckathorne, 67, of 109 E. 7th St., retired employe of Oil Well Supply Division's Imperial Works, U. S. Steel Corporation, died at 6:35 a.m. Monday in the Cleveland Clinic. He had been ill seven weeks.
Born August 22, 1897, in Sene­ca, he was a son of Ruben J. and Frances Allison Hecka­thorne. He attended the Oil City schools.
He was married September 30, 1919, to the former Wilda Sad­ler. She survives.
He had resided in Oil City 45 years, coming here from Sene­ca.
Mr. Heckathorne retired in August 1962 from Oil Well Sup­ply, after more than 43 years' service. He learned the machinist trade at Colburn Manufacturing Company, Franklin, where he began employment in 1914, and at Venango Manufacturing
Company in Franklin.
He later worked for the Riv­erside Manufacturing Company in Oil City.
A veteran of World War I, he Joined the U. S. Army in 1918 and was stationed at Camp Lee, Va., for six months.
It was after his discharge from service that he began his career March 3, 1919, with OWS as a milling machine operator in the engine works department. He worked as a machinist un­til 1937, when he was promoted to foreman. He was named gen­eral foreman April 1, 1957, the job he held when he retired.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are a son, Robert Heck­athorne of Oil City; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marian) Carll of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchil­dren; six sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Dempsey and Mrs. Sherman (Dorothy) Beers of Oil City, Mrs. R. L. (Hazel) Palm of Cranberry, Mrs. Don­ald (Bertha) Ace of Emlenton, Mrs. Floyd (Myrtle) Snyder of Rouseville and Mrs. Edward (Mildred) Coon of Reno, and a brother, Lewis Heckathorne of Buffalo, N. Y.
Two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Kulling and Irene Heckathorne, and a brother, Harry Heckathorne, are deceased.
Removal was made to the Osnider Funeral Home where friends may call any time after 2 p.m. today and attend funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Rev. Donald Bracken, pastor of the Hasson Heights United Presbyterian Clturch, will offi­ciate. Interment will be in the Sunset Hill Memorial Garden.

Funeral services for Floyd B. Heckathorne of 109 E. 7th St. were held at 2 p.m. thursday of the Osenider Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Bracken of the Hasson Heights Presbyterian Church officiated at the services.
Interment was in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were Gerald Mohnkern, Herald Best, Philip Smith, Roy McClelland, Harold Anderson and Francis Garvey.
Attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carll, Thomas Carll, and Peggy Lee Carll, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs and Mrs. Lewis Heckathorne of Buffalo, N.Y., Rev. and Mrs. James Beers of Homer City and Rev. John Beers of Blairsville.

Floyd Heckathorn-67 Dies in Cleveland Clinic
Floyd B. Heckathorn, 67, of 109 E. 7th St., retired employee of Oil Well Supply Division, Imperial Works, U.S. Steel died at 6:35 AM Monday in the Cleveland Clinic. Born Aug. 22, 1897, in Seneca, he was a son of Ruben J. and Frances Allison Heckathorn. He was married Sept. 30, 1919 to the former Wilda Saddler, who survives.
He had resided in Oil City 45 years, coming here from Seneca. He had retired in Aug. 1962 from Oil Well after more than 43 years service. A verteran of W.W. I, he joined the U.S. Army in 1918 and was stationed at Camp Lee, VA, for 6 months. After his discharge, he began his career on March 3, 1919 with Oil Well as a milling machine operator in the engine works department where he worked until 1937 when he was promoted to foreman. He was named general foreman on April 1957, the job he held until he retired.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are a son, Robert Heckathorn of Oil City; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marian) Carll of Cleveland OH; 9 grandchildren; 6 sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Dempsey and Mrs. Sherman (Dorothy) Beers of Oil City, Mrs. R. Mrs. Wilda Heckathorne
Mrs. Wilda Heckathorne, 87, of 109 E. Seventh St., Oil City, died at 10 pm Thursday in the Oil City Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Cranberry Township on Sept. 29, 1895, a daughter of Abram and Ida Moore Sadler.
She was married to Floyd B. Heckathorne on Sept. 30, 1919, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1985.
Mrs. Heckathorne lived in Oil City all her life.
She attended Edinboro Normal School, and taught for several years in Pinegrove and Cranber­ry Township Schools.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Marian) Carll of Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Robert P. Heckathorne of Syracuse, NY; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sis­ter, Mrs. Frank (Dollie) Silzle of Oil City.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Lester, and one sister, Mrs. Harry (Millie) Hagerty.
Friends will be received at the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home in 011 City.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, in the funeral home with the Rev. Merle Won­derling, retired United Method­ist minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
