His obituary from the Forest County Democratic Vindicator of July 26, 1894:
"Peter Heasley, Esq., an aged and respected resident of Clarington, this county, died after a short illness on Friday Morning, aged about 66 years. He came to Clarington some forty-five years ago and followed the occupation of farming and lumbering for many years, but for some years past has faithfully filled the position of mail carrier between Clarington and Brookville. He leaves an aged wife and a large family of children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father, and the community a good citizen, who was noted for his honesty and integrity. The funeral took place at Clarington Sunday afternoon, and was very largely attended."
