She was a school-teacher by profession. She never married.

After the death of their mother, she and her sisters took into their home
Fred Buzard, whose mother and step-mother had both died. They raised Fred
as a son, and Fred and his wife, Bessie, in turn cared for all of the Heasley
girls until their deaths.
