General Notes: Husband - Dr. William Vincent Hazeltine

He received his early intellectual training in the public schools of his native town, and in 1857 moved to Warren, Pennsylvania, where he entered the drug store of Hazeltine & Company. He continued as a clerk in that store for two years, when he returned to Busti, New York, and accepted a clerical position in a dry goods store. In 1865, having decided to enter the medical profession, he began to study under the direction of Dr. H. P. Hall of Jamestown, New York. He attended medical lectures at the University of Michigan, Harvard Medical College, and Long Island College Hospital, receiving a degree from the last-named institution. He located permanently in Warren in 1869, took up a practice, and remained there. He was one of the organizers of the Warren Medical Society, and one of its first officers. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Medical Society.
Politically, he is a stanch advocate of the cause of Prohibition. In religious attachments he was connected with the Methodist Episcopal Church; he was a member of the official board, and served as steward.
