General Notes: Husband - David Brown Hays


He entered Allegheny College, leaving in 1837, with rank of Junior. Read law in the office of his brother-in-law, John J. Pearson, in Mer­cer, PA, and was admitted to the bar of Mercer in 1846. Was editor of the Mercer “Whig,” for several years. He died in Mercer, PA, and was buried there, but on May 7, 1892, his remains were removed to the new Franklin cemetery.
