General Notes: Husband - Francis Alfred Hawthorne

New Brighton, Beaver Co, PA

He was educated in the public schools of New Brighton, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and upon leaving school took a position as messenger in the Union National Bank of Pittsburgh. Here he remained for three years, and in this period he worked himself up to the position of receiving teller. During the World War, Mr. Hawthorne was a member of the Tank Corps stationed at Raleigh, North Carolina, and his business career was of necessity interrupted by the period spent in the service of his country. After holding other positions for a period of eighteen months, he accepted a position, in 1921, with the newly organized bank at Koppel. He was elected cashier in September, 1924.
Politically, Mr. Hawthorne was a Republican. His religious affiliations were with the First Presbyterian Church, of New Brighton, and he was an active member of the Brighton Club, a New Brighton organization.
