General Notes: Husband - William Anderson, M.D.


He was educated at the Blairsville and the Indiana academies, graduating from the latter in 1848. He read medicine with Dr. James M. Taylor, of Indiana, Pennsylvania, for two years, and graduated in 1852 from the Jefferson medical college of Philadelphia. In the session of 1868-9, he attended a supplementary course in the same institution. He was a member of the Indiana County medical society beginning from its organization in 1858, and was its first secretary, its second president, and filled in turn its various offices, representing it at different times in the medical society of the state, of which he was a permanent member beginning in 1862, one of its vice-presidents in 1864 and the president in 1865. Beginning in 1868 he was a permanent member of the American Medical Association, and was a member of the international congress that met in Philadelphia in September, 1876. He held no civil offices, except that of school director and town councillor in the borough of Indiana.
