General Notes: Husband - William W. Hastings

He was born near Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania, and in 1824 removed to Kittanning, Armstrong County, where he passed the remainder of his life. By trade he was a tailor, but during most of his active career was engaged in the dry goods business. In religious connection he was a Presbyterian, in politics a Republican and active in the work of his party: he served two terms as county commissioner, and it was during his incumbency that the courthouse was erected.
