General Notes: Husband - Samuel Riddle

He came from Chester County, Pennsylvania, about 1800, and settled in Butler township, Butler County, near what is now the borough of Butler. He subsequently purchased a farm in Franklin township, on which James Cratty later resided. It contained 100 acres, where he erected a log house and began the work of making a home for himself and family. He prospered in his efforts, and afterwards purchased two more farms where his grandsons, James and Samuel Riddle, later lived. He died on his original purchase, at the remarkable age of ninety-six years.
